Zakk Cash returns with a new single entitled ‘Haze, which features Johnnie Guilbert.

“‘Haze’ is about a low point where I was extremely sad. During the Pandemic, my living situation had turned toxic and I felt I had fallen into a deep hole I couldn’t get out of. Every day just felt like a constant struggle to do anything. I was sleeping 14 hours a day, having multiple panic attacks, and was feeling hopeless. I started writing Haze about feeling broken and in a constant state of fear. I wanted to write from the perspective as if I was looking in a mirror and talking to myself.” says Cash

On why he decided to bring Johnnie Guilbert to work with him on the song, Cash adds:
“Johnnie Guilbert was the perfect person to join this song. His voice is amazing! I knew he would be able to relate and craft his own lyrics around the feelings I was having.”

Cash also collaborated with Julian Comeau (Loveless), Eric Emery (Skyharbor) mixed the song and Tyler Smyth (DangerKids) mastered it.

Phil Mitchell is a composer, author and musician hailing from Chicago and started writing songs at a very young age. He writes music in an eclectic range of genres including jazz, classical, RnB, rock, blues and country.

He formed the Phil Mitchell Band in 2004 and they have performed at a variety of venues whilst recording music in the studio.

‘My Love Is True’ is a female sung pop track with a soul/RnB influence which keeps it sounding modern. Musically, it’s a blend of tight, funky guitars and overdriven Rhodes electric piano.

The title track is a James Taylor/Simon and Garfunkel style acoustic ballad with an intimate and heartfelt lead male vocal, counterpointed by female backing vocals. The arrangement gradually builds to a mid paced groove with some exotic instrumentation that gives real richness and variety to the sonic texture.

‘God Bless this Child’ features some strong vocals by Natasha Shayenne. The ninth track The World Is A Beautiful Place is a change of pace; a toe tapping funk pop track with Nile Rodgers-type slick guitar and some superb drumming. The second section has some adventurous chord changes that show the deep harmonic knowledge behind the songwriting, yet it still works simply as just a very catchy pop track.

This is a hugely eclectic and wide range of songs unified by the artistic vision of Phil Mitchell. The album runs the gamut of human emotions, all expressed through a constantly evolving mixture of genres and styles. The mixture of male and female vocals also adds to the variety.

Canada continues to change the game, first Drake, now with independent label Jet City Records’ debut album ‘City of the Jets.’

Music has long been praised by artists for saving them from the path they once walked and giving them an outlet through the tough moments in life. Independent record label Jet City Records, also known as Jet City is using their love of hip hop to touch the world. With the dark place the world is in due to the Covid pandemic, many have suffered, and many more are suffering. Jet City has chosen this time to debut their first
album amid the crisis as a means to not only survive the lockdown but help the world navigate through it with their sound.

Jet city records is an indigenous/ Black-owned label from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada that began its journey in 2019. It’s artists and founder all share the same vision and purpose, to use music to better the world and reach those who need it most.

The label comprises of artists Loco 2k, Nucky Jmc, Big Ox, Rup Monsta and founder and ex-drug dealer Nigel Pahl, now known as Mic North. North is a testament to the power music has to spark change and find a way out of crime and poverty.
Since his release from jail in 2011, music has continued to be his
gateway from his past and the catalyst to a brighter positive future.
With his life turning a new leaf, he has not only founded Jet City, but is an advocate for the youth with his youth-based workshop series ‘Maps Workshops.’

It’s often hard to find a good, strong Gospel artist these days who is as abundantly talented and dedicated to her music as Phaze3.

Louisville Rapper, B SIMM, releases a video to accompany the song, “Beyoncé’s Letter” which continues the call for Justice for Breonna Taylor.

After the murder of Breonna Taylor in March of 2020, Louisville-based rapper, B SIMM, wrote and released a song called Beyoncé’s Letter, reflecting on this tragic event and the ongoing fight for justice.

The title and lyrics of the song were inspired by the letter Beyoncé Knowles-Carter wrote to the Attorney General of Kentucky, calling for criminal charges against the officers, transparency in the officer’s criminal conduct, as well as an investigation of LMPD’s response to the murder and the root cause of violence against black lives.

Creative group, Dreamachine Collective, wrote and produced this video, working alongside local Louisville artists to create a visually stunning, emotionally impactful work of storytelling.

After dropping Beyoncé’s Letter in October 2020, B SIMM follows up with a striking music video utilizing theatrical storytelling to symbolize the constant struggle Black Americans experience dealing with systemic racism. The video takes viewers through a journey of B SIMM’s personal experience as a black man and father living in Louisville, and his frustration with the pervasive racism within the United States justice system. The rap breaks linger on a memorial for Breonna Taylor, creating a sacred space to honor her life, and mourn her tragic death. The video closes with a hopeful, explosively colorful scene illustrating how beautiful life could be with true equality, when Black Lives Matter.

The music video was released on all digital platforms at 12:41 AM on 1/1/2021, the exact time in which LMPD shot into Breonna’s apartment. This time and date has been chosen as a call to remember Breonna’s death and the injustices we must continue to fight in the new year.

All food left over from set was donated to protestors at the Breonna’s Memorial Square in Louisville, KY.
During the filming of this video, every member of the production crew took safety precautions to film this video using CDC and socially distant guidelines.
The music video was shot in Goshen, KY at a farm warehouse building that runs strictly on solar power, keeping sustainability in mind when producing the video with naturally-sourced power, biodegradable glitter, recycling protocols, etc.

Michael Q. Trucks, also known as “Q” and “Q the Music” grew up listening to Otis Redding, Frankie Lymon, The Temptations, and Prince. Some of his earliest memories involved him performing, joining dance competitions, and moving around a lot.
Around the age of 14 years, he began writing music and in High School, he became the drummer in a band called ‘Now or Never’.
Music has always been a constant in his life.

Q’s write’s about “my light and dark experiences growing up and
through traveling around the world. I consider my form of music to be
genre-blending, using old and new forms of sound, from rock and roll to
hip hop.”

When he is not writing music, he enjoys creating concept EP & album covers during his free time. He also helps other artists with their music, through SoundBetter, by writing and providing feedback on their music;
mix and mastering; and taking their life stories and turning it into an audio novel.

By Small Ruin is an anagram for Bryan Mullis, keeping his music and lifestyle as true to self as possible. The store was destroyed.” 

From waking up to SWAT teams thinking the band’s van was owned by a nearby active shooter, to unexpectedly playing a nudist pool party of 100+ people, BSR’s thrilling lifestyle is certainly rendered in their music and performance.

Tiana Kocher teamed up with multi-platinum recording artist and rapper Sage the Gemini for her latest single release, ‘Take Over’, which she wrote with GRAMMY award-winning writer Candace Wakefield, and Sage the Gemini.

Releasing through Manila Music, the ‘Take Over’ music video was directed by Ali Zamani and produced by Zeus Zamani of AZ Films. Set on a Southern California sun drenched backdrop, ‘Take Over’ is a song about love, but through the eyes of both the male and female’s perspective of a couple finding each other and “taking over” the world together.

“Take Over’ was one of the first songs I ever recorded in Los Angeles,” says Kocher. “I recorded and filmed the music video over two years ago during summer 2018, and it was my first song working with a feature. I had an incredible time working with Sage, who ended up being one of my closest confidants in the industry. I consider him my big brother. I was fortunate enough to be able to work really closely with AZ Films to create a visual that matches the energy of the song. We always want to outdo ourselves, so we came up with the idea of filming the music video on a yacht! I had such a great time working with my closest friends on this music video.” 

Sage the Gemini has been featured on several award-winning songs including records with Chris Brown and Flo Rida, and has produced a multitude of songs, most recently for Tinashe and Tyga.

Tiana Kocher has collaborated with several GRAMMY award-winning recording artists including TLC, Faith Evans and Latin reggaeton J. Alvarez amongst others, as well as multiple award-winning record producers including Laney Stewart, Leon “RoccStar” Youngblood, Warren Kurtiss and Tyler Reynolds.
