Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Mycelf began producing trance music in the summer of 2023 after a transformative magic mushroom experience. During this journey, he felt a profound calling to create trance music, using it as a tool to heal from depression—a mission that ultimately led to his recovery. His artist name, Mycelf, is a tribute to mushrooms, inspired by the word “Mycel” (the early stage of mushroom growth) and is pronounced the same as “myself.”
Determined to master his craft, Mycelf completed an intensive 400-hour masterclass at a music school. His debut professional track, ‘Miss You,’ was created as his final exam piece for the course. Now, he returns with his second professional release, ‘Awakening,’ a track designed to take listeners on an emotional journey.
‘Awakening’ begins with soft, delicate piano, violins, and cello, gradually building momentum as the track gains power. As the awakening process unfolds, the energy intensifies, leading to an exhilarating and deeply moving climax.
