Mikey G Ignites the A-List with His New Single Champagne Poetry

Mikey G’s new single Champagne Poetry opens with a mellow, cinematic atmosphere that feels eerie and haunting, almost like a film score. A warm R&B tone sets the mood before thick, phat kick drums and hard-hitting beats take over, pushing the track into a compelling rap performance. His flow is smooth, distinctive, and grounded in authenticity, telling a story with a sober and serious edge. The production is sleek, silky, and immersive, taking listeners on a laid-back yet emotionally upfront journey.

The track is now featured on the A-List playlist and will run as a special POWERPLAY at 8:30 PM Pacific USA time for the next month.

Emerging from Brisbane’s urban hip-hop landscape, Mikey G (Michael Alenaddaf) represents a journey shaped by resilience and reinvention. His path began with childhood recognition on Australian Idol Kids, followed by a decade away from the spotlight, and later a grassroots comeback fuelled by social media. His artistry blends golden-era rap influences with Brisbane’s shifting cultural identity. With recent singles such as Buckwild and Don’t You Love The Light gaining attention, alongside collaborations with producers including Eestbound and Beau Vallis, Mikey G is positioning himself as a fresh force within Queensland’s hip-hop scene. His upcoming project highlights community, multicultural identity, wellness, and creative evolution.

Mikey G’s work connects Brisbane’s suburban realism with global hip-hop sensibilities. His lyrics explore themes of self-discovery, ambition, and mental health advocacy. His flow often reflects the introspective clarity of J. Cole and the melodic smoothness of Jack Harlow. Visually, his brand merges Brisbane’s river-city scenery with gritty urban textures, creating a contrast that mirrors the duality in his identity.

His early exposure on Australian Idol Kids in 2004, performing In Da Club, introduced him to national audiences. A voluntary retreat from mainstream attention allowed him to immerse himself in Brisbane’s underground rap community, study lyricism through artists like Lupe Fiasco, and participate in cyphers around South Bank Parklands.

The #4barfriday challenge on Instagram reignited his artistic drive, with freestyle videos filmed in locations such as Fortitude Valley’s Bakery Lane gaining viral momentum. His early collaboration with Eestbound on the 2017 release River City Tapes formed the foundation of his jazz-rap fusion style.

His studio debut, The Soul Section EP (2020), engineered by Sage Audio and co-produced by Beau Vallis, showcased neo-soul grooves intertwined with introspective narratives, receiving rotation on 4ZZZ FM. Recent singles Buckwild (2023) and Don’t You Love The Light (2024) display his evolving trap-influenced production without sacrificing lyrical depth. New releases Payroll and Exhausted (2025) further mark the rise toward his next major project, Sight Seeing.

Street Wisdom Meets Vibrant Rhythm in Greo’s Wa Do Ghe, Taking Over the A-List This Month

Greo’s new single ‘Wa Do Ghe’ arrives with a funky, vibrant backing rhythm and a strong vocal flow that feels poetic, fluid, and effortlessly in time. Distinctive and unique, the track gets you moving and gets you grooving before he even begins to sing. When he does, his voice cuts through with a sweet, warm melody layered over great beats and a sound that flows with life. t’s a fresh, energised blend of contemporary hip-hop and afrobeats, bursting with character, rhythm, and movement.

Wa Do Ghe has now been added to the A-List Playlist and will be played as a SPECIAL POWERPLAY at 7 PM Pacific USA time for the next month, amplifying its presence across the airwaves.

Following the momentum of London Times Freestyle, Benin City–born rapper Greo returns with Wa Do Ghe, an intense, street-wise anthem layered with sharp lyricism, Edo-language proverbs, and vivid storytelling. Translating to “Come See” in Edo, the track invites listeners to witness the duality of survival both in the streets of Benin and the fast-paced grind of London.

Built on a raw, percussive beat and delivered with Greo’s signature mix of introspection and grit, Wa Do Ghe dives into the realities of youth violence, economic pressure, and the thin line between resilience and vulnerability.

In the opening verse, Greo paints a vivid portrait of his upbringing:

Benin born and Benin bred
If you no know my name, then it’s okay for you to call me chair…
Some relatives fell for the street life but flee like parasites when war emerges.

He weaves Edo proverbs into stark observations, grounding the song in ancestral wisdom:

Wa do ghe vbe n’oye vbe edian — Come see how it is here
Akhwin Igho vbo — Money comes fast and goes fast.

These warnings remind young men to move wisely, stay grounded, and avoid cycles that claim too many lives. The haunting refrain drives home the weight of responsibility:

“Your mother isn’t here for you to cry to…
Your father isn’t here for you to cry to.”

It’s a message of accountability—survival in the streets demands self-reliance.

The second verse shifts continents, capturing Greo’s experience in London and the reality of life as a migrant navigating new pressures. He raps:

“Didn’t trade Nairas for tourist sites…
From Enfield to Camden, doing runs like cricket batsmen.”

Here, Benin’s lessons merge with London’s hustle, highlighting the cultural dislocation, ambition, and high stakes of starting over in a foreign city. Lines like:

“Got a foreign flu in my chest
Too sick to wait for NHS”

Every bar blends humour with realism, showcasing Greo’s ability to tell hard truths through sharp imagery and wit. His storytelling bridges two worlds, offering a voice that is both grounded in home and shaped by migration.

Wa Do Ghe is the second release leading into the upcoming Benin 2 London EP, a conceptual project documenting the migrant journey from the streets of Benin to the complexities of life in the UK. Where London Times leaned into introspection, Wa Do Ghe brings intensity, ancestral memory, and street philosophy.

Greo is a Nigerian rapper and storyteller whose journey began in Benin City in 2008. Emerging during Nigeria’s blog era with his acclaimed project Oral Tradition, he blends Edo cultural elements with polished lyricism and modern hip-hop sensibilities. After a hiatus to pursue data and technology, he returned in 2025 with a renewed, matured sound exploring migration, survival, and identity across continents.

Charlie Harris returns with a raw, authentic sound that feels timeless and real. No frills, just honest songwriting and music with heart.

Catch Living Without Hope” playing every few hours, and as our POWERPLAY at 10:30 AM Pacific USA time, every day for the next month!

South African singer-songwriter Charlie Harris dives deep into raw emotion with his haunting new single, “Living Without Hope” — a track that captures the stillness and solitude of heartbreak.

Produced by longtime collaborator Robin Walsh, the 3-minute track is a sparse, slow-burning meditation on how sadness can quietly infiltrate our daily lives. Carried by Charlie’s intimate vocals and unfiltered songwriting, Living Without Hope doesn’t dress up the truth — it sits in it.

“It’s a song to share how we all sometimes feel,” says Charlie. “That quiet ache when sadness and loneliness take over your every thought, and it feels like you’re living without any hope. I wanted to put that into words — not for sympathy, but for solidarity.”

Following his warmly received single When Are You Coming Home?, and the folk-rock optimism that defined his earlier albums Digital Dust Side A and B, this new track signals a shift toward a starker, more reflective sound. But Charlie’s signature touch remains: vulnerability, storytelling, and an emotional through-line that lingers long after the last note.

Based in Johannesburg, Charlie Harris has built a loyal following through his poetic songwriting, warm folk-rock energy, and ability to find the extraordinary in everyday emotion. His band, Keep Guessing Charlie, features musicians Andre Feldmann, Shaun Ruysenaar, Louise Cloete, and Frank Coerlin — though Living Without Hope marks one of Charlie’s most personal solo releases to date.

Stay tuned for more heartfelt music from Charlie Harris throughout 2025.

Voyage on Soulmate Seas marks a bold and deeply thoughtful project from lifelong songwriter John Consalvo. A conceptual collection of thirteen original tracks, the album tells a story through cinematic soundscapes and intimate lyrical reflections. Opening with a spoken-word piece titled Passing The Torch, the journey unfolds with acoustic finesse, electric energy, and Consalvo’s distinct vocal presence.

Early highlights include Where Do I Find Her – a euphoric rock track with emotional weight and poetic depth – and the more playful, acoustic-led Jilly Bean, which brings a lighter touch to the album’s arc. From there, listeners are pulled into the emotional power of Alone, a Bon Jovi-esque anthem that contrasts bright, uplifting melodies with themes of heartbreak and release.

The album closes with strength and variety – from the hopeful And There She Was, to the blues-soaked harmonies of Shake My Soul, and finally, the energetic Now We’re Off, which brings a pop-punk finish to this expansive and engaging journey.

With Voyage on Soulmate Seas, John Consalvo proves himself a master of narrative-driven rock, weaving poetic depth with melodic magnetism. ‘Every Second’ is just one gem from this rich collection, and its addition to the A-List Playlist guarantees that more listeners will discover the beauty and strength of Consalvo’s work in the weeks ahead.
