About Mycelf

Mycelf is a Swiss electronic artist from suburban Zurich. He began producing music in the summer of 2023 following a transformative psychedelic experience that helped him overcome depression. During that journey, trance music became both a calling and a form of healing. The name Mycelf is a wordplay between myself and mycel (baby mushroom), reflecting both personal rebirth and creative growth.

After early experimental attempts, Mycelf committed fully to his craft in 2024 by enrolling in an intensive masterclass under London-based mentor Will Darling through the EDM-PS Accelerator Program. As the program’s final project, he released Miss You in the summer—a narrative track about betrayal, heartbreak, and unresolved closure.

In December 2024, he followed up with Awakening, a deeply emotional piece that begins with piano, violin, and cello before swelling into choral textures and evolving into a trance-driven release.

Now, with Trance Is The Answer, Mycelf delivers his third professional single and steps confidently into his most creative phase yet—signaling faster output, deeper concepts, and an uncompromising artistic vision moving forward.

Based in Zurich, Switzerland, Mycelf began producing trance music in the summer of 2023 after a transformative magic mushroom experience. During this journey, he felt a profound calling to create trance music, using it as a tool to heal from depression—a mission that ultimately led to his recovery. His artist name, Mycelf, is a tribute to mushrooms, inspired by the word “Mycel” (the early stage of mushroom growth) and is pronounced the same as “myself.”

Determined to master his craft, Mycelf completed an intensive 400-hour masterclass at a music school. His debut professional track, ‘Miss You,’ was created as his final exam piece for the course. Now, he returns with his second professional release, ‘Awakening,’ a track designed to take listeners on an emotional journey.

‘Awakening’ begins with soft, delicate piano, violins, and cello, gradually building momentum as the track gains power. As the awakening process unfolds, the energy intensifies, leading to an exhilarating and deeply moving climax.
