Finnish Duo MATD and Johanna Koskiniemi Unleash Anthemic “Angels of Rock” on the ROCK A-List

MATD return with Johanna Koskiniemi on the explosive and anthemic rock single “Angels of Rock”, a high-energy track built for stadiums. The song bursts with progressive synth transitions, screeching and chugging guitars, soaring melodic vocals, and a fierce blend of 80s hair rock, goth attitude, and modern European stadium rock. It has the feel of a major rock movie soundtrack and brings the spirit of a European rock revival into 2025.

“Angels of Rock” has been added to the ROCK A-List and will also air as a special ROCK POWERPLAY at 10:30 AM Pacific USA time every day for the next month, marking the return of big, glamorous, alternative rock energy.

When the “angels of rock” arrive, they bring light, power, attitude, and an unstoppable melodic force.

The Making of “Angels of Rock”

The song first took shape in December 2024, when Finnish duo MATD sent a demo titled Hell Has Lousy Songs to singer Johanna Koskiniemi. The demo immediately made an impact. Under the direction of producer Sammy Roiha at Sound Ateljee Studio, the track evolved into an explosive, full-throttle rock anthem.

The collaboration showcases MATD’s refined musicianship and Johanna’s powerful vocal delivery. Although it began as Johanna’s first venture into hard rock singing, the performance soon became bold, emotional, and commanding. Packed with massive guitars, pounding drums, and soaring melodic lines, “Angels of Rock” was designed for arenas rather than kitchen radios.

The track was submitted to Finland’s Eurovision Song Contest selection, standing as one of MATD’s most daring releases yet. It combines melodic intensity with a message of resilience: even in “hell” the notes go wrong, and the world needs light, unity, and joy more than ever.

Johanna says, “In dark times, you have to spread light and joy.”

About MATD

MATD, consisting of Marcos Kuusjärvi and Veli Eronen, originally performed as Max and the Ducks before rebranding in 2020. They are known for artistic collaborations across genres and borders, building bold musical projects that combine real-life inspiration, pop culture, and touches of fantasy.

Their breakout success included “Me and My Dog” featuring Tom Bedlam. During their Max and the Ducks era, they achieved nine songs on Finland’s official download charts. Their track “Who the F** Is Alice” was once Finland’s most downloaded song of the week, and “This Bond Is Tight” reached number two and was shortlisted for Switzerland’s Eurovision selection in 2015.

MATD do not chase trends. They build their own original direction, fusing personal stories and cinematic imagination into emotionally rich music.

“Angels of Rock” stands as a statement. Even in difficult times, rock music continues to rise with wings, fire, and purpose.

The Goldy lockS Band Rocks Hollywood FM’s A-List With “Talking to Myself” and a Message That Matters

Exploding onto our A-List Playlist this week is the hard-hitting and emotionally charged new single Talking to Myself from The Goldy lockS Band. This epic rock anthem brings thunderous guitar riffs, a soaring vocal performance, and a bold energy that proves rock is not only alive but evolving. With a polished modern edge and a nod to the classic sound of 80s rock, the track delivers a storm of powerful emotion, dazzling guitar solos, and a message that hits deep.

Expect to hear Talking to Myself every few hours on the A-List and as a special ROCK POWERPLAY at 8:30 PM Pacific USA time featured daily for the next month.

Goldy Locks Sparks a Movement With Bold New Campaign: “Buy the Record, Not the Bod”

Nashville, TN – July 11, 2025 – Goldy Locks, lead vocalist of The Goldy lockS Band and a pioneer in both rock and pro wrestling, has launched a powerful new campaign confronting the objectification of women in music. Titled Buy the Record, Not the Bod,” the campaign challenges fans to support the art, not the image, and reignites a national conversation around how female artists are treated — and how they survive.

Known for her fearless performances and outspoken personality, Goldy has built a career that spans reality television, wrestling, entrepreneurship, and now full-throttle rock. She’s opened for artists like Pink, Nickelback, and Bret Michaels, all while performing high-energy shows across the country. But her latest move may be her most impactful yet.

In a striking photo campaign, Goldy poses nude, holding only physical copies of her music. The message is direct: support the artist, not just the image.

“I’m tired of hearing people say, ‘start an OnlyFans if you want to keep making music,’” says Goldy. “This campaign is my answer. I’ll be vulnerable to make a statement, not for subscriptions. If you love an artist, buy the album. Don’t just stream it and scroll away.”

Streaming royalties pay a fraction of what artists need to survive. While millions consume music daily, the earnings for most independent artists fall well below the poverty line. Goldy’s response is rooted in resilience and a desire to show fans that real support means buying music, merch, and tickets.

“You want to support women in music? Buy the CD. Grab the vinyl. Wear the T-shirt. That’s how the music keeps going,” she says.

The campaign isn’t about modesty. It’s about reclaiming agency. Goldy is asking fans to stand up for the creators they love and reject the pressure placed on women to monetize their appearance.

The idea, Goldy says, came to her during prayer. “I asked for guidance on what to do next, and this vision came to me. I started pitching the idea to store owners and every single one said yes before I even finished explaining.”

Her message is resonating. Fans are sharing photos, purchases, and stories under the hashtag #BuyTheRecordNotTheBod, helping spread the word and amplifying the voices of independent women in music.

Meanwhile, Goldy’s new collaborative single “I Didn’t Know” — featuring country rap icons The LACS and wrestling legend Mickie James Aldis — continues to expand her reach and artistic vision, tackling themes of betrayal, heartbreak, and self-discovery.

For Goldy, this moment is about more than just one campaign. It’s about shifting the narrative for the next generation of female artists.

“I want to show young women they don’t have to sell themselves short. They don’t need to play to an algorithm. They can lead with truth, talent, and courage.”

Fans are encouraged to join the movement by:

  • Purchasing music directly from independent artists
  • Buying physical albums, vinyl, and merch
  • Sharing indie music on social media
  • Starting conversations about respect and representation in entertainment

As Goldy puts it, “This isn’t about shock. It’s about survival. The question is simple — will you support the music, or just consume the image?”

Support the Movement. Fuel the Music.

Goldy Locks is proving that talent, truth, and grit still have a place in the music industry — and she’s calling on fans everywhere to help keep it alive. Whether through physical album sales, merchandise, or simply spreading the word, Buy the Record, Not the Bod is more than a campaign. It’s a stand for artistic integrity.

In a powerful twist on the campaign, drummer Rod Saylor coined “Buy the Record, Not the ROD,” adding a male perspective that drills into the double standard around male nudity and vulnerability in media—while underscoring the band’s unity in rallying for fair streaming payouts and true artistic empowerment.
